In Search of Freedom: A Journey at the Paris Art Capital Art Fair
Art Capital has been born since 1884 from the "Historical Grand Palais" halls and the initiative of artists with different backgrounds to join forces to create a new event. It consists of 4 sections: the Independent Artists Association, the French Artists Hall, the Hall of Comparisons and the Drawing and Watercolor Painting Hall.
The contemporary art fair held at the Grand Palais Ephemere in its 140th year at Art Capital on February 13-18, 2024 brought together the works of many artists in the fields of painting, sculpture, photography and architecture. The fair, which included 2,500 artists and 5,500 works, was held with a special invitation, as every year, with the participation of a large number of bureaucrats, the art community and international curators, accompanied by a delegation headed by French President Emanuel Macron.
In the exhibition organized by Armand Berberian at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, 19 artists from Türkiye including Ece Demirkesen represented our country in the Independents Hall, while 5 artists from Greece, one German, one French, one American and one artist from Albania participated. In addition, a plaque was presented to Armand Berberian, who organized it, by the valuable artist Aslıhan Çiftgül who participated in the fair with her work. The photograph named “Synchrone” by Ece Demirkesen, who represented our country with her work at the fair, which was created with the support of artificial intelligence, attracted great attention.
In addition, as in the previous year, it was added to the archives of both the National French Library and the New York National Library, together with a 300-page catalog containing the works of all the artists who participated in the fair with their works.
