The works of 30 Turkish painters were exhibited at the Mona Lisa Gallery in Paris. The exhibition titled “Notre Dame from Past to Present”, which also includes works by Turkish artists, opened on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, in Paris, the world art capital, and meant a great deal to art lovers. The exhibition titled “Notre Dame from Past to Present” featured the works of Sefire Tülay Musa, the wife of Turkish Ambassador to Paris İsmail Hakkı Musa, during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The exhibition opened at the Mona Lisa Gallery located near Saint-Germain, a popular district in Paris. The majority of the artists were unable to attend the opening of the exhibition due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the works of 30 Turkish painters were exhibited at the exhibition. This exhibition was designed to express the sorrow felt after the fire that broke out in the Notre Dame Cathedral, a world heritage site, and carried a message of artistic friendship. It was noticeable at first glance that the 30 Turkish painters had reflected their feelings of sorrow on the canvas with various painting techniques in their own working styles. The exhibition also included the works of two valuable painters who lived in Paris and are no longer alive. In addition, the guest artist of honor of the exhibition, Sefire Tülay Musa, the wife of Turkish Ambassador to Paris Ismail Hakkı Musa, said about her works; "These are the works I made during the days when the curfew was implemented as a precaution due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of my works that reveal people's helplessness due to the Covid-19 pandemic are in the exhibition that opened here today." Armand Berberian, who curated this exhibition, I think that the opening of the exhibition carries the meaning of a kind of bridge of friendship and I believe that this exhibition will be the expression of the most sincere feelings. “The exhibition will be a meaningful gesture in strengthening the friendship between the two countries,” he said.
