The Salento Contemporary Art Event “Historiae Mythologiae et Heroum”, part of the “Magna Grecia Project”, Salento Land of Heroes Between History, Myth and Legend”, opened on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the “G. Paisiello” Ancient Theater, with a Grand Gala that started at 19:00 and in the presence of a large audience, where the “LEONIDA” High International Awards for Visual Arts were handed over to their winners.
“SOCIETÀ OPERAIA DI MUTUAL SOCCORSO” - EXHIBITION ROOM “E. The works of the participants were exhibited in the collective art exhibition opened in MACCAGNANI" between December 1-10, 2024.
6th Edition High Recognition for Cultural, Intellectual and Social Commitment "International Academy of Art and Human Rights Education" was given to contemporary participants by the Presidency of the Cultural Association "Italia in Arte nel Mondo". Hundreds of guests, including artists and corporate figures from many foreign countries, were present and high recognition awards were given to the participants. The exhibition hosted works of many types such as photography, sculpture and painting. In addition to Aslıhan Çiftgül and Yasemin Keltek, who participated from Turkey and were deemed worthy of the award with their works, our news editor Ece Demirkesen was also deemed worthy of the high recognition award with her photographic work titled Donovan (Strong Warrior) and represented our country in Italy.
The event was held with the moral support of the National Civil Defense Lucanian Group Health Directorate and the CAI Italian Violence Prevention Center. During the event, the High Recognition for Human and Civil Rights The awards for “SOPHOCLES”, High Recognition for Social Commitment, Auguste Rodin’s “THE THINKER” and High Recognition for Poetry and Literature “CESIRA DORIA FERRARI” were presented to their recipients. The Honorary Committee was chaired by Colonel Dr. Michele MIULLI and its members included Vincenzo SANTORO, (1st Sailor on leave of the Italian Navy, Artist), Dr. Alfonso GALASSO, (Retired State Police Commissioner), Prof. Vincenzo MICIA, (Professor of Philosophy and Director), Dr. Maria Torrelli-Leonne, (Poet and Painter) and many other important names. The Academy President, Mrs. Anna Rita TEPORE, who managed the event, played an important and decisive role.
Finally, Colonel Michele MIULLI thanked all the Artists who, with their intellectual and material contributions, have enabled and continue to enable the Academy “Italia in Arte nel Mondo” Cultural Association to achieve such prestigious international goals.
